Special Projects . . .

If you follow the facebook page, you'll see that I added a couple of photos of things we've been working on. I screen printed some drawings of mine on a pretty linen. I can't wait to show you the finished project / collaboration. Soon and will be available at Renegade.

Screen Printing

Out of nowhere I woke up with an awful fever and cold! But I've been struggling through with lots of vitamins and some cold meds. So much work to do . . .

We decided to start stretching our own screens for screen printing. It's SOOO much more economical than buying pre made ones. And we use scrap woods for the frames. These photos are of a collaboration project we are working on . . . involving Linen.

Spam Musubi

I'm almost embarrassed to share this, because when I first moved to the mainland, everyone laughed and made fun of me for eating this. But Spam Musubi is really really yummy. I know Spam is weird.

All it is is white rice, spam (I like to marinate it in soy sauce & sugar before I fry it), and seaweed. Perfect lunch. Luckily for me, Cisco loves it too! So we had it for lunch today. Sometimes I put Furikake in it too.

I really miss being able to pick one up at the 7-11 on my way to the beach . . .
Go ahead, Try it!

New Love Pouches

Something I've been trying to push with new designs is hand lettered words. The first image is of me practicing the letter L. It's such a beautiful letter that I wanted to do it right. My process involves, hand sketching, scanning into the computer, editing and then screen printing. I'm happy with how simple these came out. They are in the shop now :)

Friends

A good friend from the city came upstate to stay with us for a few days. We had fun eating and cooking and enjoying the beautiful weather. She let me take a couple of photos of her too. It was nice to have some time together.

Cameras

We got Cisco a new camera. Now we both shoot Mark II's. Here he's practicing on Koali.

Brooklyn this Year!

We are so excited to participate for the first time ever in the years Renegade Fair. I'm always looking for a reason to get back to Brooklyn! We are working like crazy trying to get a ton of things ready. If you will be in NYC on June 11th or 12th please stop by and say hello. Cisco and I will be working the booth.

These were shot with 35mm film in San Francisco. I quite like a lot of them and they are currently on display in the shop. They are printed on 5" X 7" matte paper with archival inks, the images measures 4" X 6" with a white border. They come in a glass clip frame. If you are interested in purchasing them they are for sale for $25 with the frame. Email me for more info.

Save the Dates

While I was away, Cisco was in charge. Though I was a little nervous, he pulled through and got everything done perfectly! Some custom Pig save the dates went out with out a hitch and he is now promoted to Super Best husband ever :)

Natural Soaps

Something I've been wanting to do for a long time is private label natural soaps for my shop. Recently I've been working with a local soap maker, Wind Song Acres in upstate New York. The papers are original designs, screen printed in dark red ink on light cream paper by me. I wrapped it with black ribbon and a kraft label. All ready for gift giving! They are in the online shop now.

San Francisco

These were taken in San Francisco using the Cross Process app with the iPhone 4. It was beautiful & delicious. I'd love to go back again soon.
