Dry Mein

For the last week now I've been craving dry mein! I've never seen it on the mainland and Hawaii often makes their own cuisine, which isn't necessarily Hawaiian food, but usually a mixture of many eastern cultures. 

If you ever find yourself on Maui with the same craving, Sam Sato's has the BEST noodles and other local foods. They are always so busy, you probably won't find any tourist there, mainly just the local Wailuku lunch crowd. 

Now if you're not going to be on Maui anytime soon, like me. You can try making it at home on the cheap using a package of Ramen Noodles! I've found this recipe online that's yummy. I'm just trying to tweak it to my taste. Once I find a good match I'll post it. (to this batch I added carrots, baby bok choy, and ham)

Fruit & Veggie Juice Breakfast

I used to have yogurt and granola for breakfast everyday, but I found dairy starting to not like me.

So . . .

For the last few weeks, every morning for breakfast I have about two big glasses of my own fruit & veggie juices. I buy 4 lb bags of carrots, 5 lb bags of apples, and all sorts of other yummy goodness. 

Although it varies a bit, my main morning drink usually consists of: 

1 large handful Kale

1 large handful Spinach

1 Large Cucumber Peeled

1/2 Zucchini

1 Apple

A few Large Carrots 

It's the first thing that enters my body and I feel a lot better! I love juicing.

Business Cards

Printed these business Cards for my Mom's jewelry business. She sells Hawaiian Seed Jewelry on Kauai.

And trying to print some stock of new and old products for the shop!

baby it's cold outside

We recently custom ordered this pretty pink sweater for Koali from the etsy shop Mailo! Just sent in her measurements and a few weeks later we received this beautiful knit pullover. It's perfect and Koali loves it on! I wanted to make sure she had something warm before winter starts making our lives miserable.

Wedding Books

I'm wrapping up a few wedding books for some recent weddings we've shot. I really like using this 100% black cotton fabric to make the coffee table book cases. Remember these? Still trying to find the perfect design for them. But I quite like the way these turned out.

Best Shortbread

It's starting to get cold out. Perfect baking weather. These are my favorite go to cookies! So simple it only needs 4 ingredients! But SO yummy. Sometimes I even dip them in melted dark chocolate.  MMM.

Slightly adjusted from this recipe.

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/4 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup flour
• Pinch salt
• Tiny splash of Vanilla (if you're feeling like it)

Directions

Cream butter, salt and sugar (and vanilla). Add flour with pastry blender until flour is just incorporated. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 2 - 3 hours (or freeze for up to a month). 

Pre head oven to 325 degrees F. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface, 1/4" thick. Use cookie cutters to make shapes. placed onto un-greased cookie sheet. Let cut out cookies chill in refrigerator again for 10 minutes. Bake for 15 minutes or until slightly brown. 

Screen Printed Totes

We recently finished printing 100 Tote Bags for The Art Directors Club, Young Guns. We mixed a pretty metallic grey and printed them on the black Baggu duck bags. So happy with how they turned out! So if you have a design you'd like screen printed email us for a quote. Humunuku Shoppe.

Back

After frantically trying to finish a bunch of work and send out orders, we took a little road trip. Cisco, Koali , and I drove all the way to Chicago to visit my dad's family. It took us around 13 - 14 hours each way, and was by far the longest we have ever driven. It was wonderful to see everyone. Family is so important. And the older I get, the more I try to cherish the moments I can have with them. So we are back in business and ready to get to work. I can't send orders out today though because of the holiday, so I think I'm going to start the day off with a nice chocolatey hot chocolate.
