Photos for the Fall

We've been so fortunate to have some of the most beautiful and lovely clients this fall season. It's been lot of shoot but lots more fun.

Last two Barn weddings of the Season

The top photo is of an amazing wedding we shot in the Poconos a few weeks ago. Kylee, also a friend from college, was stunning and her wedding, beautiful.
The bottom photo is of a wedding we shot yesterday. Our last of the season. Because I'm pregnant we decided not to take on too many wedding this season. But each of the ones we did, were great. I'm working on editing all of these soon, so stay tuned. More weddings on the website.

A super Sweet Baby Shower

My super sweet childhood friends from Maui, who now live on the West Coast flew all the way out to Upstate, NY to throw me the sweetest Baby Shower. Everything was so sweet and perfect and I'm so fortunate to have the most amazing friends and family that already love our baby girl so much.

ps. I baked all of those goodies myself, because I couldn't miss an opportunity to make sweets for a crowd!

Our Baby

Hi friends. I usually try to keep this space for baking, crafting, making things, etc. But this piece of news is exceptionally special today. I am about six months pregnant and we will be expecting our first baby (girl) during the holidays. We are enamored by her already.

It hasn't been a completely easy journey up until now, but we are so grateful that we are in this amazing place in our lives. She is so wanted and loved. Thank you so much for all of the support over the years on this blog. I promise it wont turn into a crazy baby space!

The lack of posts is also a result of pregnancy being extremely hard work :) I hope to share all that I can here. Today is the Autumn Equinox in the northern hemisphere, and I should say a perfect start to the new adventures ahead.

Instagram Dump

This summer has been wonderful! Cisco and I celebrated both our birthday's in June & July. We also had our 4 year wedding anniversary. Crafting. Sewing. Eating. We are putting in a tall fence in the yard so Koali can run around all she wants. After years, Cisco finally convinced me that we needed to get a tabletop letterpress, so we drove to Syracuse and got one! (which btw we are SOOO excited about!) Also trying to bake a ton! Hope you are all enjoying your summer as much as we are. See more updated photos on my Instagram

a Family in the Park

We had the pleasure of shooting the most adorable family in the park yesterday! I'm so excited to get started on editing these.

http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/01/restaurant-style-salsa/

Ingredients

  • 1 can (28 Ounce) Whole Tomatoes With Juice
  • 2 cans (10 Ounce) Rotel (diced Tomatoes And Green Chilies)
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • 1 whole Jalapeno, Quartered And Sliced Thin
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1/2 cup Cilantro (more To Taste!)
  • 1/2 whole Lime Juice

Preparation Instructions

Note: this is a very large batch. Recommend using a 12-cup food processor, or you can process the ingredients in batches and then mix everything together in a large mixing bowl.
Combine whole tomatoes, Rotel, onion, jalapeno, garlic, sugar, salt, cumin, lime juice, and cilantro in a blender or food processor. Pulse until you get the salsa to the consistency you'd like---I do about 10 to 15 pulses. Test seasonings with a tortilla chip and adjust as needed.
Refrigerate salsa for at least an hour. Serve with tortilla chips or cheese nachos.

Pork & Bok Choy Dumplings

I had a hankering for dumplings one day, and went to my favorite go to recipe. Cabbage & Pork Dumplings. I used Bok Choy because it looked fresh in the market. Whipped um together & steamed them. The dipping sauce is made of garlic, ginger, green onions, red wine vinegar, soy sauce and sugar. Perfection.

Homemade RingDings

Or (if you weren't from the East Coast) as I knew them as a kid, Ding Dongs! I used a scalloped scone cutter, because I only had a huge smooth one . . . so these were tall and ridged. Also used this recipe from Beantown Baker. I found my ganache seemed a little more "sticky" than I would have preferred. Next time I'll cut back on the heavy cream. But otherwise SUPER delicious :)

Saving Your Images

Once you've spend the time, money and effort to take either beautiful professional photos or ones of your own, this is a list of great ways to save your images!

We hope you enjoy your wedding day photographs for years to come. To ensure that you never loose these images, we recommend you back them up. There are a few ways you can do that including the following.

Back the images up on your computer or external Hard Drive. Make a folder dedicated to only your wedding images and copy your images from the disk to the folder.

Copy the disks. Buy multiple Blank Disks and make back up copies of all your images and make sure to store them in different places.

Online Storages. There are many online photo storages that will store your images for a small fee. Apple, Amazon and Flickr are a few examples.

Printing. A great way to keep your images for a long time (and to enjoy looking at them easily) is getting prints made. We offer a variety of print and book options to keep your images forever.

Switch from Google Reader before Tomorrow

Sadly, google reader will be no longer working tomorrow. If you use google reader and you'd like to still subscribe to our little blog, Bloglovin' is a great alternative. Just create an account and import us in! Sadly this probably means we will be loosing some reader from google, but I hope you find your way back to us again one day. Thank you so much for the comments and emails over the years. It's wonderful to know people enjoy our work.

All Natural Lemon Lime Jello Shots!

It's finally getting really warm around here. Perfect time for jello shots! I've recently put together a pretty easy tutorial for the cool new website Sadierae+Co.! It's a super light and refreshing snack for a party or just anytime.

What's nice about the recipe is that you can exclude the alcohol to make it just layered jello, or switch up the flavors by using other fruit (or veggie) juices!

If you'd like to find the entire recipe and tutorial check it out on Sadiera+Co.
